our history

Before

In a year that saw Concorde’s maiden flight, VHS take on Beta max, The Bay City Rollers, a very hot summer and the UK and USA both electing leaders called Jim; Bell House Fabrics was started.
It was 1976 when my parents Cliff and Shirley Jenner went to see their local Cranbrook  bank manager seeking funding for  their dream of opening a fabric shop in the town.  Needless to say he thought it a ridiculous idea and turned them down flat.  Undeterred, they  secured the start up funding from another bank,  convinced that a shop selling dress fabrics, haberdashery and clearance furnishing fabrics was what the town and wider area needed.  Bell House was born and great success followed.

Now

Now in its 38th year and run by myself Paul and my wife Claire we have built on the good reputation the business has throughout Kent & Sussex.  We aim to honour the past with the original commitment to service and value whilst offering the very best products in today’s exciting furnishing and interior design world.  Onward and upward.

We are very excited about what the future holds as we develop our product offer further.  On the retail side of the business by sourcing the very latest and best stock fabrics, paint ranges, cushions & accessories.  On the interior design service side offering an unrivalled designer pattern book library, specialist products such as technical pole systems, shutters and motorisation solutions as well as the knowhow to put it all together.  The sky’s the limit!
