FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long will it take for my fabric to arrive?
Because we aim to hold in stock 80% of our site content, we will usually despatch next day for delivery within seven working days. Out of stock lead times will be advised by email with a refund option if there is a lengthy delay.
2. Do you make curtains and blinds?
We have a bespoke making service and are happy to quote you for your requirements. Please email your requirements to us using the contact form.
3. Do you supply fabrics from designer manufacturers?
We deal with most major fabric houses and can quote you competitive prices for fabrics and wallpapers. Please email the details to us using the contact form.
4. Why are your fabrics such good value?
Because we are one of the largest stockists in the UK we can pass on the lowest prices possible without having to order cut lengths from our suppliers as most of our competitors have to.
5. What about shrinkage?
Those fabrics that are washable are subject to shrinkage rates of up to 5%. It should also be remembered that any finishing will be lost in the washing process and that, when made up into curtains, different shrinkage rates between fabric and lining are to be expected.
6. What about fading?
A degree of fading will occur over time with most fabrics. Particular care should be taken with coloured silks and Indian cottons when used in sunny aspects.
7. What lining should I use?
We recommend and sell only the best quality lining being 100% cotton sateen “Solpfufe” (sunlight protector) treated. Consider interlining for an enhanced finish.
8. What about faults?
Natural fabrics such as silks, cottons and linens usually have natural blemishes which should be regarded as features rather than faults. In the unlikely event of a serious fault such as overprinting or marks we are of course happy to collect, examine and replace accordingly.
